Both are fantastic. Both have been praised by critics. Both have a brilliant cast. One is dark and serious, the other is fun and witty. Which one has faired better with the luvvies?

Researching this has been full of revelations for me. I’m not really surprised that both of the Chrises haven’t had nominations. Or Cobie Smulders. And Tom Hiddleston hasn’t been around long enough. I am however surprised that Scarlett Johannsen has never been nominated, especially that she was snubbed for Lost in Translation. And Samuel L Jackson has only had one nomination in his career? Crazy. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Jeremy Renner, possibly the least famous of the cast, already has two under his belt. He is amazing though.

RESULTS: 6 Nominations, 0 Wins.

Less surprising is this list, and I’m not surprised they won over all. Just look at Morgan Freeman and Michael Caines list! They’ve been at the top of their game forever now. Amazing. They also had method man Bale, rising talent Hathaway, artsy French totty Cotillard and legend Gary Oldman on board. And Joseph Gordon Levitt and Tom Hardy are surely destined to have their names up their soon. I’d put money on it.

RESULTS: Nominations: 10 Wins. 5

Dark Knight Rises takes it over all, but who really gives a shit when they were both so blumming marvellous.

 Um. Gwyneth Paltrow WON an Oscar for Shakespeare In Love.  so 6/1. Doesn’t make it a lot better, but it does score the Avengers a win. :D
